Born in 1977 and discovered playing in the neighbourhood, Safri was developed by Rachad Bernoussi before starring for Raja and playing in England for Coventry City, Norwich City and Southampton.

Born in France, Rahilou has said he spent important childhood and teenage years in Bernoussi, whose supporters followed his career. He boxed for Morocco at the 1988 Olympics.
